After a crazy, intense, stressful, terrifying day, the LVAD is in and working properly. I got to see Missy and I'll even get to stay in the room with her tonight, although the nurses said not to expect to get much sleep.
Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts today - we've truly needed (and felt) them.
About Me
In March 2009 I was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy - Heart Failure. Within two months, it progressed to end-stage. In August 2009 I had a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) implanted to help my heart pump blood. Then in December I was placed on the heart transplant list. On January 11, 2010 a heart became available for me and I was taken to the operating room. While on the table, the surgeons found that my own heart had began to heal. I didn't get that transplant and subsequently had my LVAD removed in September 2010. Today, I have a new appreciation for life and am learning to take each day one step at a time.
Thank you for the updates! I went to college with Missy and check the blog frequently! :) Thoughts and prayers coming your way!

I've been watching the blog for months and on many occasions just wanted to sit down and talk to Ray and Missy. Perhaps next week Missy could take a visit from me. If so, e-mail me at my MVNU account (tmyatt). I so admire you both.
ReplyDeleteYou have both been in our thoughts and prayers. I know this is a rough time, but you are both strong in your relationship with Christ. Keep leaning on Him. Will continue to lift you up in prayer, thanks for the updates.
